Don't Hate Me 'Cause Am Skinny

I went out for dinner with some friends earlier tonight and during that, in our briefly conversation, one of them came up with this idea that I should cut my hair short. When I asked him where this so called brilliant idea came from, he was like, “You are too skinny now, so maybe if you cut your hair short then you’ll look a bit heavier.” I was like, “WTF? What’s wrong with my look? I mean, when it comes to weight issue, how skinny is too skinny?”
Here is the thing, I aware very well that I have a petite figure so that even though if I put up a bit of weight, it will hardly notice. My best friend in the other hands has an opposite type of body with me, so that she looks so different. People thought that am a lot smaller than her while actually I was only like an inch shorter than her. No one ever realize that unless if they seen us stand up side by side. So yeah, I was actually considered myself lucky at this point, but clearly, it’s not so much for my dear friend.
Then, this thing was kind of made me think of weight issue which I normally never care. Ever since I was a little girl, I never was a fatty. But as they said, once a girl always a girl. And as everyone knew, and this wasn’t even a secret anymore, girls are having a huge problem with numbers the whole times. We were kind of terrified with measurement almost all the time. I mean, seriously, when guys lie about their age it was normally to make them even older. While girls lie about their age to make them younger. Guys never have any problem to weight themselves in public while girls do. As a matter of fact, this was a huge NO-NO for girls. But, am no ordinary girl as I have no problem whatsoever with my weight. I know, you would probably hate me for saying this, but that was the truth. In fact, I can barely care. I mean, as long as am comfortable with what I had, I don’t care what people say. Often, when a friend asked me whether he or she looks too skinny or too fat, I honestly say I don’t know. Seriously, I never even noticed if anyone lost or put up their weight, even though they’re my closest friends. So, why someone even bother with mine?
Well, actually I appreciate their concerns, but it doesn’t mean that I will follow their advice, right? I’ve my hair short before and I don’t really like it, that’s I know for sure, so why would I cut my hair short and get back to that situation once again? Seriously, thanks but no thanks. I love my friends and I knew that they did that because of they care, but I have my own prerogative to decide what I want, don’t I? So yeah, thank you so much my dear friend but am sorry for ignoring your suggestion. I love myself just the way it is so please, don’t hate me ‘cause am skinny?

You Are The Champions, My Friends...

Oh well, last night we were witnessed the new history as Spain became the 8th country to win the FIFA World Cup after beat Holland 1-0 at Johannesburg, South Africa. The game started quite intimidated as both teams were never won any World Cup before, so of course, they were aimed to win and looked like ready to do anything hence Howard Webb, the English referee, risked repetitive strain injury showing 14 yellow cards, a record for a World Cup final. He also sent off Holland's John Heitinga as the Dutch suspended their artistic heritage.
To be honest, the game started greatly with a lot of tackles and attempts from both team, but according to my opinion, Spain did better and created more chances. Seriously, they did. However, both team showed great defends as Holland with their Van Bommel whom specialized himself for those killer tackles that really killed Spain’s attackers and Spain with their greatest goalkeeper who seemed to me appeared as a God in last night’s game.
Toward the end, the game became more aggressive as the players were probably felt a little bit frustrated for their unsuccessful attempts. And I won’t lie to you, actually during extra time, I thought Holland played better than Spain. And yeah, I was sweat myself a bit at that point. But, my highest appreciation was for both goalkeeper, Casillas of Spain and Netherlands’ Maarten Stekelenburg, who were stood as tall as they could and did a very brilliant job on the final match at Johannesburg last night. They are an ultimate hero for their team and their country.
Well, all in, Spain did wait for the last minute to claim their victory as Andres Iniesta became an executor for the team at the 116th minute after Holland’s Heitinga got sent off for (still questioning) his awful tackle against Iniesta. I said still questioning because of, definitely Heitinga’s hand is on Iniesta’s shoulder, but only very briefly and certainly not when Iniesta goes down. So was Heitinga’s sending off too harsh? Netherlands ability to disrupt Spain’s passing left the field with Heitinga. Because it’s hard enough to contain the tiki-taka passing with 11 men. With 10? Forget about it, and seven minutes later Andres Iniesta had won the game. So it’s fair to say the result of this final was heavily influenced by Heitinga’s sending off. So yeah, maybe it is an important moment and worth a second look. But however, it was only a game and passed already. Let’s just move on and enjoy the moment.
Now, let’s talk about achievements on this year’s World Cup series. Seriously, I was like screamed my head off when Bosque replaced Villa with Torres in extra time. I mean, why? He had his chance to win the golden boot if he stayed in, but then again, I believe the decision was made for the team rather than for the player. I hate to admit it, but indeed, Villa didn’t do much in the game last night. Besides, Torres was not a bad replacement after all. Even though I was kind of objected with Fabregas came in for Alonzo as I thought Alonzo did pretty well job. But yeah, again, maybe fresh foot was needed hence the decision made. So yeah, congratulation to Forlan for winning the golden ball, Thomas Muller for golden boot and best young player (what did he win for this? Golden iPod, maybe? Hah!), Casillas for golden glove, and Spain for FIFA fair play award (they only got 8 yellow cards in 7 games which 5 came in the final!). And…oh yeah, Spain also wins a thing called the World Cup trophy, for beating all the other teams (except Switzerland) Hah!

History Is Just About To Be Made

In every World Cup, something almost always happened that noted by the historian. This year’s World Cup has no exception, as two countries in the finale tonight were never win any World Cup title just yet. So yeah, whoever wins the game tonight, it’s going to be a huge achievement for them and their country.
Let’s start with Netherlands. This country was never become one of the top favorites to win, not that they aren’t good, but more like when we talk about World Cup, for some reasons we were stuck with those Spanish or Castilian speaking countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Spain, or even Italy who won the cup previously. Netherlands in the other hand was some kind of left behind. Some of the believers were of course still support them, but they are not in the top picks. Yes, they have Wesley Sneijder who was shined in Inter Milan last season, Arjen Robben who played brilliantly in Bayern Munich and adopted the title as the flying Dutchman because of how fast he was as a winger, and (hate to admit) Robin van Persie of Arsenal who could be the key of the team success tonight, but they were considered lucky to be in the final so far as the tough game that they faced so far was only the quarter final where they beat Brazil 2-1.
Spain has a different story. Since they won the Euro Cup on 2008, this team was unstoppable. They were in their zone of football comforts at the moment. Their self esteems were on the top of the world, hence their confidence in this year’s World Cup. I mean, come on…with the number one goalkeeper in the world like Iker Casillas, the best midfielders such as Iniesta, Alonzo, and Xavi who were always provide great passing to their sharp and super cute striker, David Villa, Spain was on the top of their performances so far. True that they were never scored more than 1 goal in every game they've been, but they served us so many fun games to watch. Yeah, am not ashamed to tell you guys that since my team Argentina got beat 4-0 by Germany, I banned any Gringo to be my top pick in this year’s World Cup. Despite on how I love Klaas Jan Huntelaar and how I considered him as one of the greatest players in football, but NAH…am all about La Furia Roja.
Tonight’s game is not only about the team battle for the cup, but also an individual battle between two great strikers in the world to win the top scorer title. Yeah, Sneijder and Villa are the top scorers so far which produced 5 goals each so far for their teams. My hope, of course, is on Villa’s shoulder as am all about ‘El Guaje’ and his teammates for tonight’s confrontation, but I can not lie to you guys that am actually kind of worry. I mean, the game will always be a game, so we can not close our eyes over a lucky factor that Netherlands had these whole times being. They beat Brazil, one of the greatest teams in the world which no one ever predicted. It was like a fight between David against Goliath, and David won. In other words, it’s impossible. They went their way through to the final almost without any boundaries. So yeah, will the fortune goddess stick with them tonight? Hmm, I surely hope not but there is nothing impossible so far for the Oranje team. So, do I lose my faith on Spain? Not at all. But, yeah…I will prepare myself for any unlucky circumstances.

He’s Not Tall, Dark, And Handsome

When I talk about football and who my favorite players were, a friend once said that I only liked hot guys rather than great players. I was like, really? Here is the thing, when it comes to idolized someone, what was the first thing that came into your consideration? If someone, let say a great athlete, great personality, but has a face that only mom could love, would you still idolized him? I don’t. I know, am so sorry…but yeah, am kind of shallow and I won’t lie about it. Fact, that I love Argentina and they were my team like forever. Since the first time I watched the World Cup Series on 1986, when I was a pretty much a little girl, I was like glued myself to Maradona figure and the team that he played for. But, in the most recent Argentinean team, I was kind of like some of them, but I won’t say that they are my idols. No. Instead, I was kind of crazy about those Spaniards who were pretty much better looking. Am sorry, guys!
Now, at the moment, am all about Spanish players, Iker Casillas and David Villa to be exact. Are they hot guys? Yeah, for sure. Are they great players? Definitely! David Villa is one of the most valuable players in football, no doubt about it. He was only 19 when he started his professional football ten years ago. Until now, he has been played for several great teams in Spain such as Valencia and Barcelona. He was one of the key players who brought Euro cup to Madrid last time, even though he missed the final where Spain beat Germany because of his injury, but all the way through to the final, he played so well and decent. And yeah, he was also look good and decent. His baby face entitled him a nickname ‘El Guaje’ or in Asturian language means the kid.
Then, let’s talk about Iker Casillas. What else should I say about him? I bet you guys knew already what this Real goalkeeper was capable of. Since bursting onto the scene as a teenager, Casillas has been recognized as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe, illustrated by the many awards he has received. He was not just the goalkeeper, but he was also a captain. A great one too. He is currently first-choice goalkeeper for both club and country and serves as a vice captain for his club. As captain of the national side, he led a young Spanish team to their first European Championship in 44 years, his first senior international honor. On top of that, he looks fantastic!
So yeah, do I like footballers depend on their skills or their looks? I think it could be both. I mean, I still like Rooney whom I considered as one of the greatest for the future football era. And my football hero is still Maradona…so, I don’t know, maybe you guys can tell me. Do I like them for their looks or their plays? I mean, If you realized that my footballer idol doesn’t have to be tall, dark, and handsome. They were just coincidentally hot! Muy caliente! Hah!
