Italian Invasion

Okay, I have to admit it to you guys that I have this weird attraction to dirty words. Yeah, my bad...but for some reason, whenever I need to express myself I need to use a strong word which in my dictionary means dirty words. I really don't know what or why but I feel so much relieved after those words came out of my mouth. But funny thing was, this happened to me just recently. Seriously, I used to hate the 'F' word normally but after this super serious conversation with a dear friend who opened my eyes on how this word was actually a good word as it helps us emphasized our feeling about something or someone. Fucking awesome!
But of course, as people here in this country has so many rules about how to speak appropriately, we have got to be careful with every word that came from our mouth. the 'F' word was still considered as something rude and indecent. Then of course, as a decent girl, I tried to avoid this word as much as I could, even though always failed. I mean, come on, how do you fully express yourself when you can not emphasize it with any strong word whatsoever? Totally fail!
Then something happened. As some of you guys knew already, am opening this new shop at a spot called Fashion Point right in the center of Seminyak district. The place owns by this cool Italian hippie which I hang with lately. Between him, his girlfriend, and his nephew, I feel like outsider sometime, especially when they talk their language. Completely lost. But, as someone who has this special talent (and never ashamed to admit it) in linguistic, I spot this 'ma vaffanculo' thing within an instant. First, of course I have got no idea whatsoever the meaning of those words, not at all. Over my curiosity, I asked. And when I found out what the meaning was, I was like, hell yeah! No wonder I caught the word like in an instant. Hah!
Okay, let me tell you why did I say that. First of all, using the 'F' word was so obvious lately. Many people started to feel intimidated with it. I had someone threat to report me and some other guys who were happily using the word during this game called 'Fan Battle' on Facebook. I was like WTF? That was too much for me, really. So yeah, that is why I was so flipping happy to found those words. Just so I can express myself a little bit more open without intimidating others. Ma vaffanculo!! Yee-hah!!

My Naked Chef

No guys, this blog is not going to talk about Jamie Olivier, the ultimate naked chef from a TV program called the same, nope. But the inspiration was from him, that's the fact. Now, do you guys have any idea why he called the naked chef? O-ho-ho..don't jump into any dirty conclusion just yet. This was nothing to do with anything physical. He got his nick name 'the naked chef' actually from the way he cooks. In every recipe that he creates, he used all of basic ingredients, so basic it was almost naked. He never make his food complicated, always simple yet nice. And that is why he called 'the naked chef'.
Oh am sorry guys, did I disappoint you by saying that? But yeah, there's nothing dirty that am going to write here, sorry. But something happened a few weeks ago and to make it short, let say that I met a guy and we were kind of dating. One night he cooked for me at my house for dinner and when I saw he cooked, it reminded me to Jamie Olivier a little bit. The way he cooked with all of those basic ingredients, so very simple yet nice. The taste was delicious and believe me because am a very picky girl when it comes to guys and food. So yeah, starting from that night, he was my naked chef, ha!
Then, what so special about it? Honestly? Nothing at all. Thing is, on my last blogging I was talking about a friend who'd been killed over a robbery in her own house and it was kind of devastating. I've got so many complains from people who feel uncomfortable with that. I mean, whenever they check on my blog, the first thing that they see was the tragedy and it bothers people a lot, I guess. Including the guy I talked above, my naked chef. And of course, I don't want to cause any uncomfortable thing in anyone's mind and that's why I decided to write about something light and casual. Something that doesn't take a genius to understand, something naked..ha! OMG, does that make me a naked writer? I think so..
Now back to my naked chef, as you guys probably aware already that am kind of single recently and I was never ever see myself in dating world at anytime soon. My last break up was too painful and full of drama so that I need more times to recovery. But a few weeks ago I met someone and don't ask me what happened, because all that I knew was everything went naturally from that point. I don't know what to call this thing between us just yet, but for the moment, he is the closest definition to a boyfriend for me. So, when the first time he said that he will cook for me at my house, I was like..great, a guy that cook? Perfect? Here is the thing, my previous relationship was kind of forced me to cook, so yeah..I do cook, but I don't enjoy it. I'd prefer baking than cooking. Then when I met this guy n he does cook, what else should I asked for? OMG, am such an easy girl! Ha!
The thing is am originally came from a place that very famous for its culinary, yeah..am from Padang and for that practically reason people expected me to be a good cook. But am so sorry guys, am not. For me, most of Padang foods and or Indonesian foods are complicated. They use so many ingredients just make a thing called 'bumbu' and for me it was just too much. I need some simple and basic ingredients so it won't confused me whenever I cook. Like couple of years ago, I watched Jamie Oliver Christmas program when he showed everyone how to cook Turkey in simple and basic way and it stayed in my head like forever. Even on last Christmas I still can make it and it was perfect! So yeah, when the guy I mention above finally came to my house and cooked for me, oh la la..love it! The food was exactly what I expected..simple, basic, and delicious. I can easily make them at anytime I want..that's how simple it was. Then of course, from that night on he is my 'Naked Chef' without any dirty thought! Ha!

Something Right

My friends and I went out last weekend and got carried out until 5 o’clock in the morning, so of course, our men kind of upset with us and we ended up in trouble. Yesterday afternoon, my friend called me and talked about what went wrong about last weekend night out. Was that a hundred percent our fault? Here is the thing, our dear friend from out of town was in Bali visiting us for my other friend’s birthday bash a week before. Then of course, as a good friend, we planned a surprise birthday party for him as well, simply just because we love him and appreciate his visit. But as usual, we were kind of lose it and the small party that we planned before turned up to be a big night out for us. And yeah, we were out of control but as my man said, my friends and I were always have an answer for our so called mistake and last weekend was no different.

So yeah, my dear friend and I were having a serious conversation about our behavior lately then came to a conclusion that we need to change. We were kind of neglecting our love ones and too busy with our own life and we don’t even realized this until what happened last weekend and our men gave us a warning. First I was like, I am not a kid so I can do whatever I want as long as I know and ready with the risks, so yeah, I was like ignored everything but after a while, I woken up and smell the coffee. I realized that in the world we have to sacrifice something to get something else. We can’t always get everything that we want, like the whole world is ours. It just doesn’t work that way. Even the day has to giving up to the night when the time comes. You can’t take care of your business, while having fun with your friends and still pay attention to your love ones during your daily routine because God only prepares us with twenty four hours in a day, remember?

Then of course, from now on we will change, well, at least we will try to adjust our priority. Hey, this is not something as easy as it sounds to achieve, don’t you think so? But yeah, from now on, we will put our love ones on the top of our list together with ourselves and our business, of course, but above our friends, our daily routine, our shopping habits, our afternoon coffee, even our having fun which was always gave us trouble. This is not a promise but we will make it as our resolutions for this year. And we made a deal that we will be each other’s reminder for this so called the holly goal of the year, hah! I know, most people who knew us would probably laughed at us, but we were serious when we made this decision. So yeah, we’re not trying to justify our mistake, but if these came from our heart and made us feel good about ourselves, then we must be doing something right. If we feel that this is something that we need to do not because of anything or anyone else but ourselves, then we must be doing something right. Because nothing sounds even more right than something that came from the heart and makes you feel better about yourselves.
